Identify carers

Recognise and respond to the growing number of carers

There are more carers than ever. The Government must work to identify communities where the need for carer support is growing and build targeted supports that meet the needs of those communities.
Support carers

Build both integrated and carer-specific services

Family, carers and supporters of people with mental health challenges need their own supports to address the full diversity of their needs, and not just within the mental health system.
Involve carers

Give carers a voice in how services are designed and delivered

So much of mental health care is done by family, carers and supporters. The government committed to putting the carer perspective and lived experience at the heart of our mental health and wellbeing system, and this commitment must be honoured.
